CLINIC
The Podiatry clinic treats 350 – 400
patients per month. The clinic is supervised by a
variety of clinicians offering many clinical
insights. Patients are referred from a large
geographical area, including out of state. The
residents are afforded an active role in patient
treatment and management. A large population of the
clinic patients are diabetics with a range of foot
and ankle deformities. The clinic is dedicated to
limb salvage and utilizes a team approach including
infectious disease, endocrinology, vascular surgery,
and an on-site orthotist.
DIDACTICS
Didactic experiences occur on a
weekly basis through lectures, journal club and
work-shops. The residents have access to Present
courseware which provides on-line lectures. All
second year residents take the in-training residency
self-assessment examination offered by the American
Board of Podiatric Surgery.
